Paradise City Festival and Eneco go all in on solar energy

Paradise City continues to lead the way in sustainable festival production.

On June 27, 28, and 29, 2025, Paradise City Festival returns to the idyllic waterside gardens of Castle Ribaucourt in Perk for a unique 10th-anniversary edition. Last year's edition welcomed a record-breaking crowd of over 43,000 visitors. The sustainable festival is clearly on to something, because all tickets - except for Sunday tickets - have sold out already. But despite its growing popularity, Paradise City stays true to its core values: top-tier music, cutting-edge stage designs, and a strong commitment to sustainability.

After being awarded the title of the Most Sustainable Music Festival in the World in 2024, Paradise City and Eneco have stepped up their partnership even more. This year, they’re doubling down on innovation to move even closer to the end goal of running entirely on renewable energy. Here are some new innovations that will power the festivities more sustainably...

A smart energy network, managed by the Eneco Green Energy Hub, now spans the site. This network includes a battery system that prioritizes solar power and only draws energy from the grid when needed. It also employs peak-shaving techniques to reduce pressure on the local network. Perhaps most notably, Eneco’s Green Energy Hub will display real-time energy usage data on screen.

2025 sees an unprecedented increase in solar energy deployment, thanks to a partnership with Eneco. This totals 234 solar panels (a 30% increase compared to last year’s edition).

This summer, Paradise City will also power its entire production zone with renewable electricity, thanks to a new permanent high-capacity green power connection on-site. During the setup and breakdown, a circular power ring fully replaces HVO fuel generators, delivering 100% green electricity from the grid and solar panels.

The numbers speak volumes: In 2024, Paradise City Festival achieved 54.72% of its total energy consumption from renewable sources, despite increased power demands. Moreover, there has been a substantial reduction in HVO biofuel usage, dropping from approximately 12,000 liters in 2023 to just 7,000 liters in 2024 — a decrease of over 40%.

Looking ahead to 2025, while exact figures (and predictions) remain unpredictable due to solar variability, one thing is certain: Paradise City Festival's commitment to sustainable infrastructure is stronger than ever. With ongoing support from Eneco over three years and a forward-thinking approach, the festival continues to set new standards for sustainability within the music festival industry.Paradise City Festival 2025 promises to be an unforgettable celebration of music, community, and sustainability. Check out who plays when, along with more details and tickets, on the official website. But act fast if you want to secure your spot - only Sunday tickets remain!
